Fab Curvy ladies, Aloha!!! Today we introduce the Fab Spotlight which is a blog series that will be featuring designers, bloggers, plus size models, organizations…that are on the forefront to promote body positivity, diversity of trends as well as embrace plus size fashion.
This year is quickly coming to a close. Three months and we shall be belting Merry Christmas in all the beautiful medleys we know.
To kick off the series, we feature the stylish Miss Linda Gwada, who is a plus size model under Plus Fabulosity. Read on to know more about her love of cake and her positive affirmations in regards to being plus size.
What do you do?
I am currently working at a parastatal in Public Relations and Communication.
I always dreamt of doing law but things changed along the way. I do not regret where I am now.
I am currently reading the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
Yes I do. Being a plus size woman and pear shaped for that matter, makes it difficult to find form fitting dresses. This is because my upper body is literally 2 sizes smaller (Size 10) than my lower body (Size 14). Therefore I constantly work with a great tailor who always has to adjust most of my clothes.
I love to accessorize my clothing with African jewelry and pieces. I am currently a huge fan of dashiki dresses and African print head wraps. Being African and having the opportunity to travel a lot has made me realize the need to appreciate our African Culture.
What do you think PLUS FABULOSITY can do for the model community?
I have been part of the Plus Fabulosity team from the very beginning and I have to say it has been a great journey. Plus Fabulosity has offered me a platform to show the world that Plus Size women can model and be trendy just like any straight model.
I believe that Plus Fabulosity can expand its platform to include advertising and acting as modeling portfolios so as to open the plus size modeling community to a greater audience in Kenya and Internationally.
Mediterranean any time. Pass me the hummus please!
White Dry.
Definitely leather. Nothing beats the sultry look of leather on a curvy body.
Waffles, Waffles and more Waffles.
Santorini, Greece.
Badly done weaves. I don’t care if it’s human hair. If it’s badly installed it looks cheap! Simple!
Am watching my waistline. Hah!
I can’t decide, Pinna Colada or Mohito.
Plaintain Crisps.
Coffee Ice cream topped with oreos.
Shoes and Bags.
PlusModelMag and The Only Skinnybish.
Storm! I always wished I could strike certain people down with lightning.
