plus size shopping in kenya

Shopping for your Body | BeingFran.

Shopping has never been an easy task for the plus size community.

The average African woman is a size 14, a number that’s tough to shop for.

Most are relegated to offshoot sections of a store, or have no options at all.

That’s a big miss for the fashion industry

I remember a few years back, when i was a size 14, i had a hard time getting fashionable fitting clothes. If I had a hard time finding it, girls who were even bigger than me were definitely having a hard time finding theirs.

Shopping is either through thrifting in markets such as Gikomba and Toi, shopping from stores within the CBD, custom making pieces at your local tailor’s or online shopping from international brands or stores.

All in all, it’s a hustle. That’s why i started Plus Fabulosity; to be the one stop solution for all plus size problems. We have put together an event that will help you know where to get fashionable and fitting clothes. There’s something for everyone.

On 8th October 2016 at the Smith Hotel, the Kenya Plus Size Fashion Weekend is happening. This is one event you don’t wonna miss. It is truly Kenya’s premier plus size shopping experience over band performances by Jivu Band and Wenza Band and intermittent Dj music and hosted by MC Stano. Featuring local and international designers and exhibitors, i guarantee you that you’ll have a good time. You should expect haute couture, contemporary cultural, Street Casual, Official Wear, Swimsuits, Sportswear and Nightwear collections. All models on the runway are courtesy of Plus Fab Modeling Agency.  Be sure to keep tabs on our  social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) for the unveiling of the participating designers and exhibitors.

Don’t let this pass you by. Grab your mum, your sister, your aunt, BFF, Cousins and all curvy women in your life. They’ve just gotta be there. Don’t worry about the kids, there are many fun games and activities to keep them occupied. Treat yourself to #KPSFW16 .

Get your ticket here ; it comes with a free copy of the PlusFab Magazine July Style Issue.
