There are a lot of misconceptions associated with plus size men as is, with plus size women. Let’s touch base on some of these issues and dissect the truth and false beliefs, as we highlight tips for the plus size man.

Wear your size : Generally, men are lazy shoppers of good clothes. They rarely spend enough time getting clothes that are perfect fits and are unique. Among other reasons, for whatever reason, they are shy when it comes to matters shopping. Having said that, men will tend to pick stuff that they are not well suited for, and it gets worse with plus size men because of a few reasons and the biggest being they want to hide their weight. This makes one look bigger and untidy. Desist from being a victim since it does not work.

Tailor your outfits : Plus size men have a hard time finding clothes that fit them properly. Mostly, the outfits are too small for them; sometimes that could be the biggest size the stall has. The solution to this, especially at this age when we have Kenyan pro designers at our disposal, is have an outfit designed to suit you. It will cost more or less the same. This way, you avoid having clothes you do not like seeing in your closet.In addition, have a tailor made outfit, you instantly have confidence that the outfit you have is what you wanted and not embarrassing as you had time picking what you want.

Accessorize : Being plus size and being able to dress in good clothes is a good thing. Being able to accessorize and pimp out your outfit and do it well, is a great thing. Find accessories that fit your body type, personality and clothes in general. They help in pumping up some more confidence, which is what most plus size men lack. In some way, confidence is also an ‘accessory’ that one should wear everywhere, everyday. That’s a story for another day.

Insist on quality : The thing about low quality products is that they are quick to wear out, hence forcing you to return to the store quite often and, being a plus size man, you do not want to make so many of those trips since you will take forever before landing yourself a great pair of anything. To avoid these kinds of dismays, always go for the best quality available and be sure for an outfit that lasts.

 Invest in a stylist : It should not cost you an arm and a leg, go to someone that you admire their sense of style and ask for opinions. Let them direct you on how to pair certain outfits and accessories, and feed yourself with that information till you can comfortably dress in an outfit you would attend a fashion show, and pose for the cameras, as a plus size man.

Above all, dress for your body. Be bold, accessorize perfectly, stay healthy and always carry yourself with confidence.
